It was 80 years ago... It was the liberation of Rosheim.
On November 26, 2024, Rosheim will celebrate the anniversary of a date that changed its history forever. In 1944, Americans marched through the Romanesque town, liberating its inhabitants from the Nazi oppression. 80 years later, Rosheim remembers.
Relive the day and weeks following the Liberation as if you were there! A series of totem panels will be set up in the Romanesque town at the very locations where the photos were taken 80 years earlier. You will be in the photographer’s shoes!
The visit route
The exhibition is divided into 3 sections:
– the Town Hall window recounting the story of Rosheim’s liberation
– the Tourist Office window presenting the major festivities that followed the Liberation
– 14 panels along Rosheim’s main street. Stroll through the town from one place to another to discover them all.

To commemorate this historic moment and celebrate this anniversary, the town of Rosheim, in partnership with the association “Les Amis de Rosheim”, is organizing several unique events.
